15 years since they released their iconic self-titled debut, The Head and The Heart is heading out for an extra-special set of shows this year. Jonathan Russell, Charity Rose Thielen, Matt Gervais, Chris Zasche, Kenny Hensley, and Tyler Williams are coming together to commemorate this milestone with their beloved fans - sharing every single song from their first album on stage.
"It’s wild that we will be celebrating 15 years of our first record this spring – we are so lucky to have had the stars align meeting one another and creating art in those early days – we are looking forward to reflecting and celebrating the moments of coming together for the first time in real time with all of you!" The band teased that these shows are gonna be unlike anything they've done before. Dedicated to the record that made this journey possible, it's 15 years coming back to life as they revisit these stories that inspired their first-ever album.
The album features their iconic hits and fan favorites, "Down in the Valley", "Lost in My Mind", "Rivers and Roads", and more.
In 2009, the band released their debut "The Head and The Heart" independently, and scheduled another release for the album after scoring a record deal. Their song "Lost in My Mind" was a smash hit, driving the album to chart on the Billboard 200. From then on, the only way was up. With folk tunes staright from their hearts, the band kept getting bigger and bigger.
Coachella debuts, Hot 100 anthems, headlining the Red Rocks, and making it to Lollapalooza, it's an amazing 15-year journey. This year, they look forward to creating more memories with their fans on tour.
During the release of their latest album "Every Shade of Blue", the band shared a few words of wisdom about their approach to music:
"The more you can trust and feel the ability to be vulnerable as you’re making art, you make way bolder statements. You don’t guard yourself. Songwriting is its own form of therapy for all of us," he shared via American Songwriter.
